So, a major push for me recently has been to be better about photography the everyday moments of life with my family.  We usually remember to photograph the big moments: birthdays, Christmas, first day of school, etc.  But what about all the  small things that make you laugh every day?   That face your kid used to always make (when did he stop doing that?), the odd toys he just had to take in to the bath, the dog that died a few years ago (was he really that fury?) and so on.  Things change.  Fast.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.  I have several digital SLR camera bodies, (with more lenses than I care to admit) multiple flashes with infrared remotes to get them off camera, etc.  But, my favorite recent purchase?  A point and shot camera.  All that stuff is HEAVY!  And I ain’t handing my 1D to some dude on vacation to get a photo with the wife (sorry wifey).  In other words, the best camera is the one you have with you.  I have even resorted to using my cell phone camera on occasions!
